Overview

Pages look better with images.  You can use the content editor to insert and manipulate images.  And add links and hotspots to your images

Image Management

Open the Content Editor and click the Image button  .  This opens the Image Manager dialog.

You upload pictures using the Image Manager Image manager Preview.

  Insert Image
Clicking this button opens the Image Manager with a list of the images that you have uploaded.  You can also upload images here as well.  You select an image to insert either by double-clicking on it or select the image you want to use and click .  To change the size and location use the Properties page of the Image Manager

To cancel the insert simply close the window without selecting an image.

Highlight the image on the page

Use the properties panel at the bottom of the editor to resize, or align the image.  Changing either height or width will not rescale the image.  To rescale an image click the properties button:.  This opens a dialog - for more information see  the Properties page of the Image Manager

Image Links

You can associate an image with a link. 

Select the image,

Internal page: If you want to associate the image with a page on your website, use the Internal Links button  and select the page.

External Link: Click .  insert the URL and click .  For more information see Links

Image HotSpots

You can set part of your image to link the user to another page.  For an example, see the Admin Functions page.  The Admin 'Menu' image uses hotspots to take you to the correct page.

Managing Hotspots

Click the image to select it (the point you click must be OUTSIDE any existing hotspots)

RIGHT Click to open the image sub menu

Click the Image Map Editor menu item

Inserting a new area:  Define the shape (rectangle or circle). and click [New Area]

Drage the small blue square to the position for the hotspot, and resize the area using the red handle in the bottom right corner

This will automatically define the size and location of the hotspot, or you can fill in the position yourself:

Add a URL (either an internal page - don't forget the aspx extension!) and a short description.  Click  to finalise this area.

Repeat for as many as you have.

Editing an area: Select the area, resize or position; modify any URL etc. Click  to finalise this area.

Removing an area: Select the area in the image you want to remove and click [Remove Area].  To remove all, click [Remove All]

Saving the Hotspots:  Click  to save all the hotspots and changes.  You must do this, otherwise all the updates you have made will be lost!
