OctEportal™ Overview
General Description
OctEportal is a Content Management System (CMS). That is, you provide the content and OctEportal manages the system. Since most users have little technical knowledge, OctEportal shields you from the complexities.
Little or no technical knowledge required to maintain the web site.
The service has been designed for the web site owner to maintain it themselves. Little technical knowledge is assumed. If you can use a web browser and a word processor then you can keep the content of your OctEportal™ web site up to date.
Pages can be added moved or deleted without having to upload changes.
Pages can be added to any part of the web site. Once created a page can be moved to any location within the web site or deleted if no longer required. There is no need to modify a local copy and uploaded changes which means that you can managed your web site from anywhere with an Internet connection.
Appearance of the web site can be changed without having to re-enter all the information.
The layout and appearance of the web site is controlled by a 'skin'. This skin includes the graphics, pictures, type faces and styles that control how your web sites looks. The skin also defines the areas of the page that hold your content. Because the appearance is held separately from the content you can completely change the appearance of all or part of your web site without having to re-enter all the information that it contains.
User Logins allow you to control who see what.
You can control access to each page and each part of a page based on whether the user is logged in and who they are logged in as. This allows you to create secure Intranet sites within your web site without affecting the experience of the public access to the site.
Cost
OctEportal costs the same flat fee per month + VAT whether you have 1, 10, 100 or over a 1000 pages on your site. The only restriction is on the total space you are allowed (100Mb). If you want to sell goods or services over the Internet OctEportal allows you to do that too at a very low cost per transaction. In fact the more you sell, the less you pay per transaction. And you pay a month in arrears, so you get 1 month to try it out for free. As part of the service we provide a SSL connection and a Digital Certificate at no extra cost.

Hosting and Domain Management
OctEportal™ includes hosting. We can also provide domain registration.
Emails
OctEportal™ provides as standard up to 20 mailboxes with unlimited email addresses. Spam and virus filtering as well as additional mailboxes are also available for a small charge. We can provide more mailboxes at a small cost.
