Tables allow you to create structured blocks of text within the Content Editor.
Table Management
Open the editor and click the Table button on the toolbar.

Tables can be used to display data in a structured manner or to position your content on the page.
Insert a Table
This buttons displays the new table menu.
Manually: Highlight the number of rows and columns you think you want. A new table is inserted into your page.
Assisted: Click the Table Wizard and layout your table from the dialog. All of these options are available to you separately.

Rows and Cols: You can choose the number of rows and columns that you need in your table. Both of these can be added and removed later so it does not matter if you do not know the number you need when you add the table. You can also 'merge' columns and / or rows (Span)

Width: This is the overall width of the table and can be set as an absolute number of pixels or as a percentage of the page (or the tables container) width.
Alignment: This determines how your table is positioned in relation to the text in your page. This will have little effect if you have set the width to the default 100%.
Cell Spacing: This is the amount of space between cells in the table. (i.e. outside any border)
Cell Padding: This is the amount of space between the edge of the cell and text or cell's content. (i.e. inside any border)

You can edit each individual cell by highlighting the cell and setting its properties (within reason where it may affect row height and column widths)

Use this Tab to add a title, row and column headings
The results with added text look like:
